Chicago Smelts - Park District Community

The Smelts practice in the pool at Gill Park during the time slot set aside for Masters Swimming. Over the years, we have developed a great relationship with Gill Park, a relationship which has benefitted us both. We participate in the Gill Park Advisory Council, attend general Chicago Park Districtict meetings to support Gill Park and the programs there, donate equipment for the pool, and regularly raise money to support the Gill Park Gators kids swim team.

Smelts Donate Money for suits and caps for the Gators

The Chicago Smelts raised $500 to donate to the Gill Park Gators swim team to purchase team suits and caps for each member of the Gators Swim Team. The money was raised through individual donations collected at practice.
